Appliance manufactures aggressively seek patent protection for their designs. The result is a very crowded field of intellectual property owned by a great variety of manufactures attempting to cover the many different designs, systems and components. It is critical for manufactures when developing new appliances to not only be aware of their competitor's intellectual property, but also identify the aspects of their own designs which may be patentable and to document them as thoroughly and quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, concerns about intellectual property often take a back seat when engineering departments have their hands full with their primary responsibility; striving to create the best designs possible in the time allotted.

Solution

Dries Engineering has many years of experience designing appliances in this crowded environment. We have researched and studied a great many of the patents in the area of appliance design and we stay abreast of new developments in the field. Our chief Engineer is an inventor on ten US and European appliance patents with two currently pending.

We have an established and efficient method for:

a.) Helping to identify aspects of the new appliance design which might be patentable.
b.) Promptly writing excellent invention disclosures.
c.) Working with the client's Patent Attorneys to answer any engineering questions while they prepare, apply for and follow up on the patents.
